Iowa Visit, Thanksgiving & Such

Hi everyone!  Sorry we've been MIA.  I've been working a lot and so has John.  We barely have time to sheave these days, Thomas!

At the beginning of the month, Parkland played in Burlington, IA so I went up and John and I were able to see Chad and Christine!  They came up for a night and we hung out at the infamous FUN CITY!  We got dinner, went to the Casino, and then to the bar.  It was a..pretty good time ((Bubba accent)).
At the bar at Fun City!  Now they're back at William Penn and we're back in the 'Paign.  Chadly just has his ACL repair surgery and it went well.  Too bad he wasn't able to get it on the dance floor.  Oh well, until next time.
We had a pretty good Thanksgiving as well!  Beni joined us at my parents early in the day and we went to the Klebers for dinner.  I made my famous pumpkin pie cheesecake and, naturally, it was fabulous.  I had to work the next two days so I didn't get to enjoy the weekend or celebrate with the family for Nikki's 24th birthday!  But I hope she enjoys her lovely socks and insulated gloves.

Right now, I'm fighting off a head cold so I've been a little under the weather.  John's season has been getting underway and he's been busy recruiting, scouting, going to practices, and games.  My Norwex parties for the year has teetered off, so I won't be working 6 days a week for a while now so I'm pretty excited for the break.  So if John and I have been a little MIA lately, that's why!  I can't believe we're adults now with real jobs and bills.  I love being married and having my amazing husband, but miss having someone cook for me every night, paying for the water/cable/internet/insurance/power/etc (hahahaha), and not having so many responsibilities!  Oh, real life.  It's been great for us being near home though, so I can see my family and John can see his quite often.  I still haven't gotten used to Nikki living up in Chicago yet.  She was home for her birthday/Thanksgiving and I barely got to see her.
I hope everyone had a great Thanksgiving!

Parkland 1-0!

Parkland won their first game last night!  75-71 at Olney Central! Here is the write up of the game:

The Cobra Men's Basketball team started out the 2010-2011 season on the right foot as they upended Olney Central 75-71 on the road Tuesday night. A balanced attack saw four players finish in double figures as twelve players saw action in the contest. Shaq Lowery led all PC scorers with 16 points, including a perfect 12-12 at the free throw line. Marcus Lewis came off the bench to score 15 points and haul down rebounds, while DJ Hoskins added 12 and James Fleming tossed in 11.

The Cobras built an early 15 point lead and held a 10 point margin at the break. Olney rallied behind strong shooting from behind the arc, eventually tying the game. From there PC added some key rebounds and some aggressive guard playing leading to several trips to the charity stripe allowed PC to pull away and hold off the Blue Knights. The Cobras made 22 of 28 shots from the line will Olney managed to make just 10 of 20. PC (1-0) will travel to Lake Land on Saturday for a game with the Lakers before opening at home next Wednesday.

Before & After Bathtub Pics

I just got my descaler and a bathroom scrub mitt!  So I used those on my gross, gross tub.  Although, you could probably get the same/similar results with just an Enviro cloth and the descaler.
