Psalms 39:4-5

Lord, remind me of how brief my time on earth will be.
Remind me that my days are numbered -
how fleeting my life is.
You have made my entire life no longer than the width of my hand.
My entire lifetime is just a moment to you;
at best, each of us is but a breath

Reading this scripture this morning, I immediately thought of work.  I personally have not had a lot of experience with death at the hospital, but the few times that I have feel like this.  It literally shows you the truth of this scripture.  How God can just say, "I'm ready for you" and you're on your way home.  It's just unbelievable how quickly it can take someone, and how it makes you realize that we are a mere speck on God's time line that stretches around the world and farther.  It's astounding.  It makes my daily complaints, worries, fears, and troubles seems so insignificant.  It just makes me want to sit back, gaze at, and enjoy God's beautiful creation here on earth while I'm here and say to all of those worldly troubles "you don't really realize how little you matter."
