As some of you may know, our family dog Maggie died yesterday. It was definitely a shock. She stopped walking and was basically paralyzed. It was a back injury, which is a common problem with dachshunds. We basically had to put her down. It was an awful, awful day. Maggie was so regal, refined, and classy.
So here's to you, Miss Maggie. I will miss your disgusting breath, the asthmatic breathing/honking noise that you would do every time I came home, how you would dig into pillows like you were looking for a long lost bone, how you enjoyed pears from our pear tree, your love for bringing rocks into the house and push them around with your nose, your selective snuggles, and your distinguished-looking gray fur around your nose. The Pisula household will never be the same. Hearing only one bark when I come home is a painful reminder of your absence. I love you. You were after all, a very good dog.
