Save $$ in 2011

For all of you interested in saving some $$, having cleaner/healthier skin, using less chemicals, and using less plastic bottles, please check this stuff out:

If you use Norwex instead of facial cleansers and eye make up remover, you can save anywhere from $265 over 5 years, and $371 over 7 years.
These cloths are antibacterial, exfoliate, and remove make up. Rinse under warm/hot water, wring out and hang dry.  Launder weekly for care.
The warranty is 2 years, but these cloths realistically last 5-7 years.  So think about never buying facial cleansers or eye make up remover/make up removers again, and having better skin because of it.
I've been using mine for 3-4 weeks, and my skin is smoother, feels cleaner, and I have seen a drastic decrease in break outs.

Make-Up Removing Cloths:  $19.99

Body Pack - $16.99

(For this, I used the cost of the brands I was using prior to switching to Norwex body cloths.  I did use Proactive for approximately 1-2 years, but stopped because it was too expensive.)

Norwex Host Benefits

So, I've had a few people ask me about how much a Norwex host really gets from having a little party.  John's mom had 6 people at the party and outside orders.  I totaled up the value of all the free items she received from her party:

Bathroom scrub mitt:  $22.99
Optic cloth:  $8.50
Laundry detergent:  $24.99
4 antibac enviro cloths:  $58.00
Body pack:  $16.99
2 window cloths:  $33.98
Spirisponge $4.50
Veggie/fruit scrub cloth:  $13.99
Large antibac cloth:  $24.99
Kids set:  $39.99
Car cloth:  $24.99
Dusting mitt:  $14.99
          Total Value:  $288.90

+ Over $100 in free additional items of her choice

So if you like this stuff and it interests you, host a party and get a lot of it for free.

And I've been using my stuff a lot lately all around the house.  Here is a before and after of a trunk my grandpa gave me a while ago that sits in our living room.  Note all the white grossness on the front black panel and on the goldish looking part too.  Man, I hope that wasn't mold.

After!  There still is one white smear, but I think that I've decided that it is white paint.  All I used to clean it was:
That's enviro antibac cloth and my spray water bottle!  So I cleaned all that gunk/moldish looking stuff off with just water.  You can see some of the brown spots on the cloth.  I just rinsed that under hot water with a little dish detergent.

I can't wait to do a before and after of my tub.  It is so gross.  I'm waiting for my descaler to get here to do it.  So once I get that taken care of, I'll put some before and afters on here of that too!

Oct. 19th, 2010

Hey everyone!  John and I are doing well.  Parkland's season is getting started.  They've had two jamborees and have won 5 of the 6 total games!  I'm excited to see them play this year.

Here is their 2010-2012 schedule:
http://www.parkland.edu/athletics/mensbasketball/schedule.aspx

So naturally John is extremely busy with practices, recruiting, study halls, etc.  I've started working nights too, so we're having to deal with seeing each other less.  I am really enjoying nights though.  It is much slower and I have time to really get a good picture of my patients and why they're there.  It's so crazy to think that a year ago I was still living in Iowa, in nursing school, writing papers/doing homework, and planning a wedding.  It definitely feels like I'm doing what I've been planning for years for.

I've also been putting a lot of time into my new Norwex business.   I'm loving it.  I hated not having something to organize and do every day outside of working at the hospital.  Plus all the free stuff isn't so bad! This stuff is so easy to sell though.  I'm not much of a salesperson, I hate bugging people about selling things because I hate when people bug me!   But people love it, so it's not so difficult.  And I had my first party last week.  It was definitely a success.  Not to mention we had the best spinach dip ever!  (Thanks Stac.)  And I used my Kitchenaid that was a gift from Jill and Wayne from the wedding.  Man, those things are awesome.  No wonder they're so expensive, it's because they're amazing.  Thanks guys!

Here's the recipe.  I highly, highly, highly recommend it!  You should definitely double it though.

Knorr Spinach Dip
1 (10 oz.) pkg. frozen chopped spinach, thawed (do not use fresh)
1 1/2 c. sour cream
1 cup REAL mayonnaise
1 (4 oz.) pkg. Knorr vegetable soup mix
1 (8 oz.) can water chestnuts, finely chopped
3 green onions, finely chopped
Squeeze spinach until dry. In medium bowl, stir together spinach, sour cream and soup mix. Add finely chopped water chestnuts and green onions. Cover and refrigerate 2 hours or overnight.  ENJOY!

Congratulations to Mr. and Mrs. Lucas Huling!  I went to their wedding last weekend with Aimee.  After getting lost 3 times, we finally made it to the reception (we missed the ceremony!).  I felt bad, Aimee and I were talking and I wasn't paying attention to the exits I missed, or the highway I was supposed to turn on.  Of course, Katy was absolutely stunning and it was so good to see all my Iowa nursing ladies.  I can't believe we're all nurses.  It seems like just yesterday Katie was farting on my pillow, asking me CONSTANTLY to ask her question, after question, after question, eating my food, and messing up my room.  Or we were studying for a dreaded LV exam, using 5 different textbooks, or complaining about the paperwork for our licenses.  Or RSI paperwork, SNA events that we had to go to but didn't really want to, and talking about everyone's upcoming weddings.  Three years later, I'm back in the 'paign, livin the dream!  Minus a Thomas or two.

Norwex Party

Hey, you!  Come to my Norwex party this FRIDAY.  7-830pm.  Win a free cloth, hang out, check out the new place, eat yummy food, check out the wedding pics.  Come even if you don't feel like buying anything.  I'm making the most ballin spinach dip ever (compliments of Stacia Randle) and pink champagne punch!

Get some make up remover cloths, which are so fantastic, and never buy make up remover again.  Trust trust trust me, you will not regret it.  My friend, who is a doctor, will be giving the short little explanation and clean my gross tub and show you how awesome this stuff is.

And if you can't come and are in oh say ... Tennessee, Iowa, Pennsylvania, Germany, Israel, Slovakia, Norway, Chicago, New York City, we can definitely do outside orders. Just let me know and those orders will go out when the actual party orders go out!

Friday, October 15th
7:00-8:30pm
308 South Draper
Champaign, IL  61821

Near the intersection of Springfield and Mattis, by Cozy's Custard.

AND if you think this stuff is super ballin (like me), if you host a party (have a few friends over, snacks, and I'll do my little talk and clean), you can get lots of free stuff.  John's mom hosted a party, and I think 7 of us were there.  She got 15ish free items.  Literally her entire wish list.  So she had a party, and didn't pay for the stuff she wanted because she got it free for having the party.  Holla!

my new love for Norwex

Have you heard that stainless steel is the new way to cook?  Well, Norwex is the new way to clean!  I don’t want to sound like some corny salesman, but this stuff is legit.  I went to a party a week ago, with no intentions of buying anything, and was amazed at the products.  I LOVE them!  I ordered some, got one free from a game at the party, and decided to become a consultant!  And those of you that know me, that must mean it’s for real, because I hate hate hate selling stuff.  But, I want to share this with everyone I love, because I’ve already seen a benefit from it and hope you do too.

Norwex is a new way of cleaning.  Instead of using chemicals, Norwex uses microfiber combined with an antibacterial silver-based agent.  Now, you can buy microfiber at Walmart, but this microfiber is much smaller.  It is 1/100th the size of a strand of human hair and the silver in embedded in it.  These cloths last 5-7 years, can be used anywhere in your home, and can be used dry or wet.  You wipe these cloths on surfaces and they pick up everything.  By hanging it to dry, the silver works as an antibacterial, allowing you to launder these only once a week.

So instead of using Clorox bleach, Windex, 409, antibacterial wipes that you throw away, you use these cloths and save money!  And you save yourself and your family from being exposed to these chemicals.  (Note that the average household spends $450-600 on household cleaning chemicals and supplies.)  This fantastic for people like me who have awful allergies and seem to be allergic to EVERYTHING.  You’re picking up the dust, dust mites, raw chicken juice, dirt, grime, and not putting a chemical over the surface which attracts more dust, dirt, and grime.
Not to mention, they have a body cloth.  I use this, and it was a total selling point for me.  I have one for my face, so I do not buy face wash or make up remover any more!  It even removes waterproof mascara and is exfoliating.  Between those two items, I know I spend at least $100/year, and my face feels cleaner.
Have I convinced you yet?  Haha, I love this stuff!
So, I will be having a little party at my house on October 15th at 7pm to show all of their products, give a few away, and tell people about it!  If you can’t come but are interested, let me know.   We can do an outside order, it’s super easy and I’ll get you a catalog.  There are monthly specials too, which are really good deals.  We’ll have some treats and if you have seen our house yet, you can come check it out!

These are great for:
People with allergies
People with kids
People that hate to clean
People that love to clean
People that want to save money and time,
People that travel a lot (clean where you are staying, pack less by bringing a body cloth rather than soaps, body wash, face wash, make up remover, eye make up remover, etc)
Newlyweds
People with babies
And people that hate buying paper towels or Clorox wipes all the time!
If you're at all skeptical, get your Google on and check it out.
